A native of the Loire Valley, Chenin Blanc vines were first taken to the Cape by Hugenot refugees from France at the end of the 17th century where it became known as Steen. The grapes were grown in the Breede River valley region of Robertson. The wine, has crisp green apple flavours and an attractive length. Try it with fish, salads or goats cheese.
