“9/10 – Smashing Hunter Valley red with easy weight, tight black fruit and a toothsome dark-roast core to the flavour. Excellent value.”
The Best Wines in the Supermarkets 2007 by Ned Halley.

“This is another Aldi special, a proper, classy, Hunter Valley Shiraz for about half the price you’d expect it to be. This isn’t dense – I don’t really want it to be – but it’s rich and syrupy with loads of smoky plum and blackcurrant fruit, leathery, herby scent and a real sensation that you’ve had a very serious mouthful for a lot less money than you should have paid.”
Oz Clarke’s Wine Buying Guide 2007

Direct from the famous Hunter Valley, this Shiraz is dark red in colour the nose is typically spicy with aromas of dark berries, black pepper and a hint of mocha. It is a full coloured, medium bodied wine whose good intensity of fruit and a lifted berry finish will make it an excellent choice with game, liver and onions, and a good companion to English country cheeses.
