Springtime lawn care
Now’s the time to reach for the Lawn Rake. Raking clears moss, dead leaves and most importantly lawn thatch to rejuvenate your lawn and make it lush and healthy-looking. Warmer weather stimulates more vigorous growth, so cut your lawns as often as possible to encourage a dense and even texture. Apply Spring fertilisers, weed and moss killer
Lawn thatch – why you should remove it
Lawns create a thatch layer through the natural living, growing and dying process. This thatch layer is unable to break itself down. The layer stores disease and prevents air, water and nutrients from reaching the roots. A breeding ground for insects, it also chokes grass growth, reducing shoot density. Thatch layers below ½" can benefit from lighter treatments; anything deeper will require harder work.
